The Warehouse Lead is responsible for achieving daily department goals set by the Operations Manager. They will monitor hour by hour performance, adjust staffing as needed, and provide feedback to colleagues on operational processes. Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily meetings to discuss the business, priorities, and transition to/from next shift.
  • Enlist colleagues to offer suggestions for process/culture improvement and champion their cause.
  • Ensure colleagues are trained, cross-trained and/or certified in all operational areas.
  • Recognize training deficiencies and work in partnership with Core Trainer and Operations Manager to retrain and address issues.
  • Ensure KPIs related to merchandise movement, service levels, accuracy and productivity standards are achieved.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workplace and ensure the personal safety of all colleagues.
  • Provide guidance to daily operations activities to ensure a high degree of coordination and cooperation between different areas.
  • Provide hands-on direction to colleagues for the operation of the fulfillment center.
  • Recognize and celebrate individual and team performance with positive reinforcement.
  • Maintain the hourly process board to drive performance within the process path.
  • Adjust staffing to close performance gaps exposed through process board updates.
  • Communicate influential conversations with colleagues that are off standard to the defined quick reference guide methodology.
  • Achieve daily department plans established by the Operations Manager.
  • Balance freight flow, validate colleagues time spent in function, monitor hour by hour performance and adjust staffing.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to conduct operational training sessions and support the ongoing development of the overall team.
  • Skill in coordinating daily operations, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and prioritizing tasks.
  • Ability to identify issues, analyze situations, and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in using computers and handheld technology.
  • Resourceful self-starter who can work independently.
