**Job Description**
**Responsibilities**:
Under the general supervision of the Coordinating Manager, and with latitude for the exercise of independent initiative and judgment, this position is responsible for performing, but not limited to, supervising the HCI staff and also performing the following:
- Verification of insurance eligibility and benefits for all patients requesting Advanced Imaging Services.
- Verify that the HAR is created for all Advanced Imaging Procedures.
- Conduct comprehensive System Checks for the uninsured population and/or when no insurance has been identified. This also includes telephone interviews with patients when all other tools and/or options has been exhausted.
- Check Media Manager for patient information and or copy of their documentation that is not listed on the IFS
- (Interactive Face Sheet) for ex: (Insurance, H&H Options, NYC Care Identification, and additional documentation).
- Accurately update and revise Demographic, Biographic, and Insurance information in our Patient EPIC System on all IFS accounts to reflect the most current data.
- Ensure appropriate notation has been documented in the Notes section under the patient referral in EPIC for
- MRI, CT's, NM, IR and PET scan services. This also includes any other systems associated with processing Advanced Imaging procedures.
- Submit online authorization request to Evicore, AIM, Health Help, UHC and any other Insurance Companies for patients scheduled for Imaging Services.
- Follow-up with the insurances for authorization approvals, denials, or to submit additional information within two-three business days.
- Financially clear patients scheduled for Imaging Services in EPIC when the authorization has been received and approved.
- Communicate any issues that may arise after the request has been submitted with the Ordering Provider and Attending via e-mail or phone call when deemed necessary. Be sure to include as many providers within the service. This will include request for additional notes, denials, change of CPT codes and any other correspondence received from the initial request.
- Conducts patient interviews and/or pre-screening process to obtain identifying/qualifying Demographic, Biographic and Insurance information to complete the New Patient Registration process.
- Demonstrate the ability to be flexible, organized, and function efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Follow and adhere to all steps in the Advanced Imaging workflow.
**Minimum Qualifications**
Six months of service as a Hospital Care Investigator.
**Salary Range**
$66,114.00
