<p> <strong>Position Function:</strong> </p> <p>The Department of Chemistry at Mississippi State University seeks applicants for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track instructor to teach online and/or face-to face courses in Chemistry.</p> <p><strong> Salary Grade </strong>:  UC</p> <p>For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.</p> <p><strong> Department Profile: </strong></p> <p>Our Bulldog Department of Chemistry family of more than 120 dedicated and diverse personnel includes 30 faculty and staff, 90 students, and other associates hailing from more than 16 nations and 20+ states. We are a vibrant and multi-cultural leading academic unit in the College of Arts & Sciences.</p> <p><strong> Anticipated Appointment Date: </strong></p> <p>January 1, 2026</p> <p><strong> Tenure Track Status: </strong></p> <p>N/A</p> <p><strong> Essential Duties and Responsibilities: </strong></p> <p>- Teach up to four undergraduate classes each semester in the Department of Chemistry.<br />- Participate in departmental activities as assigned.<br />- Demonstrate a high commitment to quality teaching.<br />- Possess the skills needed to organize and manage assigned courses.<br />- Work effectively with students and colleagues.<br />- Perform other duties as assigned.</p> <p><strong> Minimum Qualifications: </strong></p> <p>- MS or PhD in Chemistry or equivalent.<br />- Experience teaching general Chemistry courses.</p> <p><strong> Preferred Qualifications: </strong></p> <p>- Experience teaching Organic Chemistry courses<br />- Experience managing teaching assistants</p> <p><strong> Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: </strong></p> <p>- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.<br />- Strong interpersonal skills.<br />- Fluent skills managing and operating a Learning Management System.</p> <p><strong> Working Conditions and Physical Effort </strong></p> <p>- Work is performed in a classroom environment.</p> <p><strong> Instructions for Applying: </strong></p> <p>All applicants must apply online at and attach a cover letter, current curriculum vitae or resume, and the complete contact information for at least three professional references.</p> <p><strong> Equal Employment Opportunity Statement: </strong></p> <p> Mississippi State University is an equal opportunity institution.
