Join Moderna’s Clinical Biomarker Laboratories as a summer intern to support clinical assay development and sample testing for mRNA therapeutics and vaccines.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Work with a team of experts to quickly learn technology and techniques.
  • Generate experimental results, perform data analysis, and document findings in formal reports with conclusions and recommendations.
  • Support technology transfer and sample testing at internal Moderna and external CRO sites.
  • Participate in planning, designing, executing, analyzing experiments, and conducting formal risk assessments to establish critical process parameters and control strategies.
  • Review academic literature and establish collaborations with internal research and compliance groups.
  • Prepare technical reports and present findings in cross-functional meetings.

About You

The company is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate in Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or similar fields.
  • Basic knowledge of standard lab procedures such as pipetting.
  • Completed foundational biology courses such as cell biology, biochemistry, or laboratory techniques in biology.
  • Must hold valid US work authorization without need for future sponsorship.
  • Preferred: GPA of 3.5 or equivalent.
  • Preferred technical experience in cell/tissue culture, in vitro transfections, protein/antibody detection methods (e.g., MSD, ELISA, Luminex), assay development, and troubleshooting.
  • Preferred prior co-op or internship experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
