About Delta Air Lines: Delta Air Lines is more than just an airline; we are a 'global leader' in connecting people and cultures. With a vast network spanning six continents, our mission is to provide the safest, most reliable, and most welcoming travel experience in the skies. Our culture is built on a foundation of 'servant leadership' and a 'passion for people', both our customers and our 80,000+ employees worldwide. We are seeking energetic, compassionate, and 'safety-focused' individuals to join our team as 'Entry Level' Flight Attendants based in our world headquarters hub: Atlanta, GA (ATL). 'No experience' in aviation is required. We provide world-class, 'paid training' to give you all the skills and confidence needed to become an FAA-certified safety professional and a true ambassador of the Delta brand. Your New Career – The Role: As a Delta Flight Attendant, your primary responsibility is 'safety'. You are the first responder, the safety expert, and the face of Delta in the cabin. While providing 'world-class hospitality' and customer service is a key part of the job, your most critical duty is to ensure the well-being of every passenger. This is a dynamic '24/7 role' that requires a high degree of flexibility and resilience. You will be responsible for everything from pre-flight safety checks and FAA-mandated demonstrations to in-flight service and responding to any in-flight emergencies, both medical and security-related. This is not a 9-to-5 desk job; it is a 'lifestyle' that requires availability to work a variable schedule, including 'day shift' trips, 'night shift' (redeye) flights, 'weekend shift' duties, and holidays. Your professionalism, confidence, and 'calm under pressure' are the keys to success. The Training – Your Foundation for Success: Your career begins with our intensive, '8-week, paid training program' held at our state-of-the-art training center in Atlanta. This comprehensive program is renowned as the best in the industry and is designed to take you from 'no experience' to a fully-certified FAA safety professional. The curriculum is challenging and includes: * 'Aircraft Systems & Safety Equipment:' You will gain hands-on experience with our diverse fleet (Airbus and Boeing aircraft), learning the operation of doors, galleys, and all emergency equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, PBEs, AEDs). * 'Emergency Procedures:' You will be rigorously trained in full-motion cabin simulators for 'real-world' emergency scenarios, including evacuations on land and in water, in-flight fires, and depressurization. * 'First Aid & Medical Response:' You will be certified in CPR, AED, and advanced first aid to confidently handle passenger medical events. * 'Service Excellence:' You will learn the 'Delta standard' of service, including beverage and snack service, 'Main Cabin' and 'First Class' service standards, and how to use the onboard point-of-sale systems. * 'Conflict Resolution:' You will gain critical skills to manage difficult passenger interactions, de-escalate conflict, and ensure 'cabin compliance' with all safety regulations. * 'FAA Regulations:' You will learn and be tested on the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) that govern your role. Graduation from this program, including passing all exams and practical drills, is a mandatory requirement to earn your Delta wings. A Day in the Life – What to Expect: Your 'workday' is fast-paced and changes every time you fly. It begins long before the first passenger boards: * 'Pre-Flight:' You'll arrive at the ATL crew room for your 'day shift' check-in, 1-2 hours before departure. You'll join your flight crew (pilots and fellow flight attendants) for a 'crew briefing' covering flight plans, weather, passenger manifests (noting premium passengers and special needs), and any safety considerations. You will then board the aircraft to conduct 'pre-flight safety checks', meticulously inspecting all emergency equipment and ensuring the cabin is clean and fully catered. * 'Boarding:' You'll greet passengers with a 'warm, professional' presence, assisting with carry-on baggage, seating, and answering questions. You will manage the boarding process efficiently and ensure all safety tasks are completed before the aircraft door is closed. * 'In-Flight:' Once airborne, your primary role remains 'safety'. You'll conduct compliance checks and monitor the cabin. You will then perform your in-flight service, serving beverages and snacks with a focus on 'hospitality'. You are a 'problem-solver', a 'first responder', and a 'customer service agent', all at 30,000 feet. * 'Post-Flight:' Upon landing, you'll manage a safe and orderly deplaning. You'll then conduct a final cabin sweep for lost items and security checks. Your day may consist of 2-4 short flights or one long-haul international flight, and may end with a 'night shift' arrival, either back at your home base or in an overnight city (layover), where you check into a 'company-provided hotel' to rest. The Lifestyle – Schedule & Flexibility: This is not a traditional office job. Your schedule is built on seniority. As a new 'entry-level' Flight Attendant, you will start on 'Reserve'. This 'on-call' schedule means you do not have a set schedule of flights. Instead, you are on-call for a block of days, ready to be assigned a trip at a moment's notice. You must live within driving distance of your assigned base (ATL) and be able to report to the airport, typically within 2-3 hours. Your schedule will include 'day shift', 'night shift', 'weekend shift', and holiday assignments. While this 'reserve life' demands flexibility, it also offers it—you may work a 4-day trip and then have 3 days off. This lifestyle is perfect for those who thrive on variety and 'love to travel'. Why Delta? We are a 'people-first' company. We offer a 'stable, long-term career' with unmatched opportunities. Delta is known for its 'profit-sharing' program, where all employees share in the company's success. We offer competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the 'best travel privileges' in the industry, allowing you and your loved ones to explore the world on our global network. If you are a disciplined, resilient, and positive person with a deep commitment to safety and 'genuine service', we invite you to apply.
