Position: Utility Management Nurse (Insurance Coding & Revenue Management)

Type: Hourly contract

Compensation: $45–$75 per hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: Part-time, flexible hours

Role Responsibilities

  • Review, audit, and optimize insurance coding practices to ensure compliance and accurate reimbursement outcomes.
  • Analyze existing hospital revenue management workflows and recommend improvements aligned with AI-driven documentation tools.
  • Interpret clinical documentation and translate it into standardized coding formats (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
  • Assess coding accuracy against payer policies and documentation guidelines.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve AI-assisted medical coding and documentation workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare documentation, coding, and privacy standards.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or equivalent clinical background.
  • Strong experience (3–5+ years) in medical coding, clinical documentation improvement (CDI), or revenue cycle management.
  • CPC, CCS, or CRC certification preferred.
  • Strong experience with hospital billing systems, payer policy interpretation, and coding audit workflows.
  • Strong understanding of clinical documentation standards and reimbursement logic.
  • Comfort working with EHR systems and clinical documentation tools.
