VP of Product, Ads (Remote - UK) - The EliteJob

Job Description As the leader of the Ads Product team, you will have the opportunity to have a meaningful impact in the lives of millions of people and local businesses. Now is a great time to build new products at Yelp. We are transforming the company from being known as simply a restaurant review site to offering services that modernize the experience of interacting with all types of businesses from restaurants to contractors. Building these end to end experiences presents a fascinating set of marketplace and business challenges. The ads business and core product is central to Yelp?s growth - iterating on the existing set of ad products and building fully new ones that touch all parts of the marketplace is central to our success. The Ads Product team is currently a group of about 15 talented ads PMs located throughout North America and Europe, ranging from mid-level PMs to senior ICs and GPMs. We?re looking for a leader to set the product strategy for the core ads offering and to drive the monetization strategy going forward. This role encompasses things like leading our ad bidding and pacing strategies, ad targeting products and full page optimizations approaches, syndication and retargeting product portfolios, among others. This opportunity is fully remote and does not require you to be located in any particular state within the US. We welcome applicants from throughout the US. We?d love to have you apply, even if you don't feel you meet every single requirement in this posting. At Yelp, we?re looking for great people, not just those who simply check off all the boxes. What you'll do: Build, mentor, and coach, and a world class group of Ads Product Managers. Guide the product strategy around some of Yelp?s most critical systems including bidding and pacing, ad targeting, etc. Interact with the executive suite to inform of plans upwards and collaborate and act on vision and strategy. Pair with leaders of other orgs across Biz Ops, Product, Eng, and GTM to set company-wide strategies and tie goals back to ads roadmaps. Promote team development by fostering new learning and career opportunities. Work with other functions like finance and HR to ensure the team is set up for success by managing a budget, headcount, and compensation practices. What it takes to succeed: 10+ years of product experience in ads / marketplaces. 5+ years experience managing Product Managers, ideally experience managing Group Product Managers. A passion for Yelp and our mission of connecting people to great local businesses. Demonstrated ability to understand deeply technical products, and a proven record of iteration and net new development to drive meaningful business outcomes. Experience building a healthy culture that is collaborative and accountable. Track record of developing design leaders at different levels of experience. A strong skill set in working and communicating with a wide range of people - you can go from a room full of Data Scientists to the Customer Success org and be successful and impactful in both forums. Outstanding ownership - you run towards problems, you focus on solutions and implement the right level of process to do so. Technical background, e.g. something like Physics, Math, Economics, and / or algorithms broadly. What you'll get: This opportunity has the option to be fully remote in all locations across the US. Compensation range is $224,000 - $400,000 annually. You may also be offered restricted stock units and benefits. You can find more information about Yelp's five star benefits here!
