Scope:

The Warehouse Receiving Associate/Driver is responsible for verifying, receiving, unpacking, and organizing incoming shipments, as well as transporting goods to designated locations. This role ensures accurate documentation, timely deliveries, and exceptional customer service while upholding Apogee Controls’ core values and representing the company professionally.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or engineering background preferred.
  • Strong computer proficiency and effective communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must have a reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Solid understanding of road safety rules and regulations.
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with GPS navigation tools (e.g., MapQuest, Google Maps).
  • Warehouse receiving, or inventory control experience, is an advantage.
  • Experience working with ERP systems is preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) highly preferred.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Warehouse Receiving:

  • Receive shipments. Verify correct material and quantities and document and report any damaged containers or material including quantity discrepancies to the buyer or SCPM.
  • Receive materials against open Purchase Orders in ERP, issues parts to respective work orders.
  • Receive RMAs from customers, Process Appropriate paperwork.
  • Package order per customer requirements or our company standards in order to prevent any shipping damage
  • Communicate daily with Production Supervisor/Manager on the status of received shipments for that day.
  • Participate in cycle counts and year-end inventory per WI-824-002.
  • Put all unallocated stock (received from vendors or returned from production) away in the storeroom.
  • Manually assign new inventory locations.
  • Maintain the organization of the storeroom and the accuracy of the inventory.

Kitting:

  • Using computer generated pick lists, pull, stage and present materials for orders and release to production when complete.
  • Accurately document all shortages on the pick lists and turn shortage lists into Purchasing.
  • Review daily receipts and fill all outstanding shortages as available.
  • Turn in shortages from kitting process.

Driving & Delivery:

  • Drive vehicles to designated destinations for customer product deliveries.
  • Drive safely and deliver products within deadlines.
  • Analyze delivery address, determine appropriate routes and maintain schedule.
  • Report any accidents or injuries to Supervisors immediately.
  • Load and unload products from trucks and trailers.
  • Perform vehicle inspection such as checking fluid level and tire pressure.
  • Notify supervisors about any major repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintain the vehicle clean and safe; follow local and state driving laws and road regulations.
  • Work with support team to provide exceptional customer services and address customer concerns.
  • Maintain driving log and accountability for the keys.
  • Provide special care in delivering fragile products.
  • Accountable for proper use of the company credit card to only purchase gas, maintenance of vehicles and company supplies that have been requested by the President, Controller, COO and Plant Manager.
  • Submit ALL receipts and credit card back to the Controller or Plant Manager

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand, sit, and/or walk for up to 8 hours.
  • Able to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch, and climb.
  • Able to push, pull, and lift from up to 30lbs and occasionally 50lbs.
  • Able to use hands repetitively for up to 8 hours; grasping, turning, and fine manipulation.
  • Able to use a variety of hand tools and operate machinery for up to 8 hours.
  • Able to read, write, measure, and distinguish color.
  • Able to wear all required Personal Protection Equipment such as safety goggles and closed-toed shoes while on the production floor.

  • Maintain teamwork attitude in working with all associates.
  • All system transactions and paperwork are compiled accurately by end of day.
  • All paperwork is filed or delivered to appropriate departments by the end of day.

Reports To: Plant Manager

Pay Rate: Starts at $14 per hour
