Currently we are looking for Technical Writer 3. The Technical Writer creates and maintains software documentation for company products ensuring that documentation is well written and accurately reflects the behavior of the software. Responsibilities: - The Technical Writer role works in collaboration with global Engineering and Product Management teams to create explicit, concise, and accurate documentation using DITA structured writing technologies and principles in a fast-paced continuous delivery environment. - The Technical Writer writes documentation for usage, configuration, and installation of user interfaces and works in collaboration with Engineering teams to maintain API documentation. - Researches, uses, and builds knowledge about products, services, technology, or concepts to be documented. - Creates documentation for new and moderately complex products. Updates and edits existing product documentation to reflect changes to more advanced software. Conforms to quality standards for structure, content, and style - Submits work to the editorial team that conforms to quality standards for structure, content, and style. - Meets with subject matter experts, attends relevant meetings, and collaborates with R&D; colleagues to ensure that documentation is accurate. - Ensures software is functioning as expected. Escalates identified bugs, software design and usability issues to the appropriate R&D; stakeholders and pushes toward resolution. - Actively participates in discussions regarding product direction and design and proactively seeks information about product development in order to anticipate and prepare for upcoming software changes. - Identifies and troubleshoots issues with files in the authoring environment and resolves those with some assistance from documentation leadership. - With minimal guidance from team leaders and managers, uses experience to make informed decisions that improve the quality, layout, and overall functionality of assigned documentation. - Performs advanced technical tasks as determined in collaboration with documentation team management. - Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hyland’s Information Systems Security Policy. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree. Preferred major in English or Technical Communication. - 5+ yrs of Technical Writing Experience. - The Technical Writer will actively use the software to ensure user-friendly and accurate documentation, using Atlassian suite products to collaborate and track projects. - Success in this role requires strong English writing skills, a learner’s mindset, and an aptitude for technology. - Working experience writing concise, grammatically correct, technical documentation - Working experience with desktop authoring and publishing tools required for the job and the ability to quickly learn additional tools. - Strong technical aptitude and writing skill. - Good interpersonal skills with a history of building productive relationships - Good decision making skills. - Good oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact. - Good editing skills. - Strong collaboration skills. - Dedication to quality. - Strong attention to detail. - Strong ability to install, use, configure, and troubleshoot software. - Strong ability to troubleshoot the installation, configuration and usage of software.
