<h2>Job Description</h2><div><div><p><strong>Access Developer - Hybrid (1-2 days in HQ) - £60,000-70,000 + benefits</strong></p><p>This role will take ownership of a legacy product developed in Microsoft Access (Front End) and SQL. The successful candidate will maintain, document, and optimise the current product, whilst - in due course (and in partnershp with a 3rd party) - design, develop, and implement reusable C# services and .Net integrations which support the company’s digital transformation.</p><p>Our client has over 40 years of experience in their industry and is the largest such independent national service provider in the UK today. They are a national business with staff geographically spread across the UK and Northern Ireland.</p><p><strong>Access Developer - Key duties:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Take ownership of, and provide day-to-day support for, the current Access-based platform.</p></li><li><p>Maintain and optimise the existing Access database, ensuring its reliability and efficiency.</p></li><li><p>Produce comprehensive, high-level technical documentation, ensuring code is well-commented and maintainable.</p></li><li><p>Rewrite legacy services to ensure they are modular and reusable in future system developments.</p></li><li><p>Review and refine the SQL database, focusing on building a robust relational database model.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Access Developer - Essential experience:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Proven experience working with Microsoft Access as a front-end tool.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency in VBA for maintaining and enhancing legacy functionality.</p></li><li><p>Strong SQL development and optimisation skills.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Access Developer - Desirable experience:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Knowledge of (classic) ASP.</p></li><li><p>Experience of infrastructure and database performance monitoring.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with the wider Microsoft technology stack / C# and .NET.</p></li><li><p>Business process analysis and optimisation experience.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Access Developer - Skills and qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Skilled in managing legacy systems while facilitating modernisation efforts.</p></li><li><p>Strong documentation and communication skills.</p></li><li><p>Ability to work independently and collaboratively across hybrid work environments.</p></li></ul><p>In return for joining, you will be provided with industry-leading training, the opportunity to work flexibly, and will receive a competitive salary and benefits package.
